Boom™ Wipes are a 2004 Utility Products Magazine

BOOM
   Wipes

for Electrical Safety

Meet OSHA Live-Line Tool Standard for Boom Maintenance
B-1 Boom Prewash Wipe -- Removes grease, dirt, tar, and grime from booms and fiberglass live-line tools with no adverse affect to gel coat. Meets OSHA and IEEE maintenance standards for safe overhead utility construction.

BOOM Prewash Wipes are cleaner-saturated towels that clean grease, tar, creosote, salt spray*, hydraulic fluid, pine pitch, and road debris off fiberglass boom arms.   The cleaner is water soluble, and washes off during subsequent water rinsing.   Boom Wipes don't adversely affect the gel coat on booms.   Available in 2 different packages.   Boom Wipes in the catalog #B-D72 self-dispensing canister won the 2004 Utility Products Magazine "Readers Choice Award!"

TESTIMONIAL:   "The product was quite good.   It removed grease and dirt with ease.   We also liked the size of the towels and the fact they were a one-time use."

OSHA states that: Booms and other live-line tools "... can become electrically unsafe because of ... a combination of wetting, surface contamination, and a loss of surface gloss ..."

OSHA demands that: "Each live-line tool shall be wiped clean and visually inspected for defects before use each day."   Click here for the OSHA reg.

Boom Prewash Wipes -- Removes grease, dirt, tar, and grime from booms and fiberglass live-line tools with no adverse affect to gel coat. Meets OSHA and IEEE maintenance standards for safe overhead utility construction. Boom Prewash Wipes Catalog #B-D72 is a 72-count self-dispensing and resealable canister. The towels feature a textured side to assist cleaning, and a soft side that's easier on hands.

BOOM Prewash Wipes satisfy this requirement and offer these features:

* Salt water is more conductive than fresh water.   Rain or foggy mist on a boom covered with salt residue can create a conductive saline coating, adding to the electrical hazard.
