APC's annual, week-long Market Planning sessions commenced on August 20, 2001. Prior to the gruelling sit-down, a "Wall Taping Contest" was held. The Market Planning Committee was divided into 3 teams. Each team elected one "tapee." Teammates then taped this individual to the wall with duct tape. The winner of this timed event was the team whose tapee hung to the wall the longest. Team #1 won this raucous event by managing to suspend their tapee, Dale Solheid, for several seconds, substantiating Dale's reputation as a "lightweight." Below are a few "Kodak moments" from the contest.
Team #1 tapee Dale Solheid practices his flying techniques in case the tape fails to hold.
Team #2 makes a tactical error in choosing a massive humanoid (Tom Ramboldt) as their tapee.
In an effort to control costs by limiting the excessive use of expensive duct tape in suspending tapee Christine Otam, Team #3 Captain Chris Jonnes decrees that: "No strip of tape shall exceed 8 inches."
Sharon Hindahl warns the film crew that the next few moments are off limits to the camera.
Tom Ramboldt closely oversees the delicate placement of a key supporting strand of duct tape.
John Fee (left) scratches his head, confused over Dale Solheid's inability to breathe, while Tom Ramboldt (right) continues to show concern over the "delicate placement."
Erich Rosenwinkel overstresses the key structural strand, resulting in an atomic wedgie.
Behold the diversity of tactical tape deployment.
Jake Jonnes (left) takes advantage of the opportunity to satisfy a long-term fantasy: the inappropriate touching of the triumphant and vulnerable Dale Solheid.
The energized committee is now ready to tackle serious marketing strategy questions.
