Eliminates Blown Bells in Concrete or PVC Pipe Joining
NSF Certified for Potable Water Systems |
|
The Problem:
Pipe manufacturers and contractors both know the reason for damage and "blown bells" in concrete and gasketed PVC pipe joining. An improperly lubricated gasket loops out from its groove during pipe joining, and causes the bell to split. Field people don't want to improperly lubricate a pipe joint and gasket; but with lubricants that smell, drip, melt, freeze, don't stick, and wash off, sometimes it's impossible to do the job properly. | |
The Solution:
GrandSlam™ Pipe Joint Lubricant for concrete and PVC eliminates the problems with existing pipe joint lubricants. It is an odor-free, easy-to-apply, soft paste material. GrandSlam™ Pipe Joint Lubricant sticks to both wet and dry surfaces on concrete and plastic pipes. It doesn't wash off, even with flowing water. GrandSlam™ Pipe Joint Lubricant is compatible with rubber gasket materials. It provides maximum lubricity of the rubber gasket against the concrete bell for damage-free pipe joints. |
GrandSlam™ Lubricant Can Save You Money!!
- CLEAN AND ODORLESS
Has no offensive odor and is non-staining. Can be washed off hands, tools, and clothing. Field people don't mind using the product. Proper and complete lubrication in the field means fewer blown bells.
- EASY TO APPLY
"Grabs" and "clings" to rubber, concrete, and PVC--even under water. Has the consistency for good coverage whether applied by hand, swab, or brush. Thorough and easy lubrication minimizes joining damage.
- TEMPERATURE STABLE
Doesn't get "watery" in hot weather. Maintains consistency over a wide range of temperatures for neater, more efficient use. Long shelf life. Better lubrication and better joining.   GSQ freezing point: 32°F (0°C).   GWQ freezing point: 10°F (-12°C).
- SUPERIOR LUBRICATION
Gives maximum slip character to the gasket to prevent displacement during pipe assembly. Fewer blown bells and damaged pipe.
- COMPATIBLE
Doesn't deteriorate or swell rubber or plastic gaskets. Contains no hydrocarbon greases or silicones. Will not deteriorate cast iron pipe. No future problems caused by the lube after the pipe-joining operation.
- SAFE & NON-TOXIC
Harmless to people and the environment. Can be safely used in the field. Suitable for potable water systems. Meets NSF/ANSI Standard #61.
APPLICATION
- GrandSlam™ Concrete Pipe Joint Lubricant is ready to use in the pail. Do not dilute, thin, or otherwise alter its consistency.
- Clean both the inside of the bell and the outside of the spigot.
- Completely lubricate the inside surface of the bell and the gasket.
- The lubricant can be brushed on, swabbed on, or wiped on by hand with a cloth glove. Be sure to get full lubricant coverage. Don't leave any area "dry." GrandSlam™ Pipe Joint Lubricant makes such an application easy by grabbing and clinging to the pipe's surface.
- Position the gasket in the groove and equalize its stretch by lifting it slightly with a screwdriver while completely circling the pipe.
- Apply lubricant on top of the newly inserted gasket using one of the methods in step 4.
- Because GrandSlam™ will adhere when applied under water, steps 1-6 can be done in the rain or in a trench.
- After lubrication, the pipes can be aligned and joined by an approved coupling method.
