Welcome, Polywater® Representatives!

Enjoy these photos from our 2005 Christmas Celebration.

The highlight of this year's party was the "American Polywater Idol" karaoke contest.   Employees were encouraged to volunteer for the night's fun--with no idea that karaoke was afoot.   This reeled in twelve suckers: Dave Schumacher, Mike Fee, Tim Schmolke, Chris Jonnes, Sheri Dahlke, Jerry Hanson, Travis Rose, John Fee, Tom Fredericks, Christine Otam, Win Miller, and Ramona Isker.   A different song was selected specifically for each contestant--without their input.   The resulting performances ranged from horrendously bad to surprisingly good--but invariably hilarious.   Three judges, Dan "Simon" Hobson, Lea "Paula" Moore, and Greg "Randy" Cox, selected the best three performers, who then had to perform another selection of their choice--as they endured the constant jibes of host, Charlie "Ryan" Cole.   The three finalists were Tim Schmolke (who opened with "She's a Lady" by Tom Jones and closed with a rousing rendition of Sinatra's "New York, New York"), Chris Jonnes (who earned his spot by moonwalking to Garth Brooks' "Big Money" and won 2nd place by singing The Eagles' "Tequila Sunrise" to a nice Mexican hat dance), and Mike Fee (who shocked the crowd by belting out a pleasing version of Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" without having to read the lyrics, and then blew them all away with his winning presentation of "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice).   Mike's voice and stage presence were good, but in the end it was his pelvic-thrusting physicality that made him the easy choice for Idol.   To celebrate his victory Mike then treated the rabid crowd to "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot, performed as a duet with the diminutive but talent-packed Lea Moore.

Host Charlie Cole is consoling as Sheri Dahlke holds back tears following her infamous rendition of "Fame" by Irene Cara.

Jerry Hanson sings "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys.   Unfortunately, the judges did not want it that way.

Ramona Isker leaves the crowd feeling blue after her version of "Blue Christmas" by Elvis Presley.   Elvis has left the building.

John Fee blinds the crowd with his brilliant performance of "Feliz Navidad" by Jose Feliciano.   Spectators later blamed the temporary loss of vision on closed eyes due to a "fear of watching."

A head full of tinsel was not enough to win over the judges when Christine Otam did "I Think We're Alone Now" by Tiffany.   By the time she got the hook, she was alone.

Tom Fredericks' song selection was "Kiss" by Prince.   The judges were unanimous: Tom is an excellent salesman.

The standing-room-only crowd reacted in horror to Win Miller's rendering of "Rhinestone Cowboy" by Glenn Campbell.

Dave Schumacher performs "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash.   It is said that the same effect can be achieved by eating too many jalapeño peppers.

Travis Rose elicites a painful reaction from the crowd as he croons Sinatra's "Strangers In The Night" in the style of his favorite heavy metal band, Brutal Death.

The crowd reacted favorably to Tim Schmolke's impersonation of Tom Jones doing "She's A Lady."   No wonder Tim has fathered so many children.

Like bees to honey, Chris Jonnes' version of "Big Money" by Garth Brooks attracted blonde, dollar-bill-wielding groupies (and old, grey-haired machinists).

Mike Fee easily earns his spot in the final three with Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline."

The lighters came out quickly once Mike Fee hit the stage.

Runners-up Tim Schmolke and Chris Jonnes provide back-up dance support for the Mike Fee Show.

Suddenly stricken with Saturday Night Fever, Charley Ames proves he practices more than the lathe during those long lonely hours in the machine shop.

Mike Fee busts a move during his duet of "Baby Got Back" with Lea Moore ...

... and then actually levitates!

Behold the power of beer!   Lea Moore (aka Paula Abdul) demonstrates what the judges really had in mind for a winning performance.
