New OSHA regulations (29 CFR Part 1910.269) require regular maintenance of insulated fiberglass truck booms. Dirt, road and sea salts (which can mix with rain or fog to create a conductive saline coating), and other contaminants that can lead to surface electrical leaking must be removed.
