American Polywater's
Lubrication Rate Calculator
Calculate an Appropriate Range of Feed Rates for the Automatic Pumping
of Polywater® Pulling
Lubricants During a Pull
Introduction: This page will estimate the rate or volume of Polywater® Lubricant flow needed to support lubricant pumping during your pulling. This flow rate estimate is based on conduit size and pulling speed. This calculator provides a range (low end and high end) of lubricant flow rates. This information can be used to design a pumping system appropriate for your situation.
Data Entry: To use the calculator, first choose the system of units (metric or English) that you wish to use. Metric units will return a rate in liters/minute and English units return the rate in gallons/minute. Then enter the nominal ID of the conduit and the cable pulling speed at the low end and high end. The low end range should be based on the smallest conduit and slowest pulling speed. Conversely, the high end range is calculated from the largest conduit and fastest pulling speed. You can click on the option boxes for typical conduit sizes, or directly enter the conduit's inner diameter in the input box. The pulling speed must be directly entered in the input box. The Calculate button sends your data to American Polywater's web server. The results are returned and shown beneath your entries. This calculator will be easiest to use if you expand this page to full screen size. These introductory paragraphs will disappear after your first calculation for increased speed.
