One of the most popular electrical solvents on the market today is American Polywater's Type TR™ Cable Cleaner.   This is not surprising, given its uncanny similarity to "trichlor," the old industry standard--now banned due to its ozone-depletion potential.   Type TR shares most of trichlor's advantages (fast-evaporating, non-flammable, no flash point), but is not an ozone depleter.   The problem with Type TR is that it was available only in two sizes of saturated wipes, but wipes are not an appropriate package for all applications.   REAs, munies, and co-ops have long asked for Type TR in an affordable aerosol as replacement for their beloved 1,1,1 trichloroethane sprays of days past.

Type TR™ Solvent Catalog #TR-16 Aerosol Can
Got it!   American Polywater's popular Type TR™ Cable Cleaner is now available in an aerosol package (catalog #TR-16).   Type TR closely matches trichlor in solvency and rate of evaporation (fast).   It does not contain chlorinated solvents.   Type TR cleans semi-conducting cable shield, corrosion inhibiting compound, silicone greases, filling gels, transformer oils and many other contaminants found in electrical cleaning.   TR is perfect for substation maintenance crews.   It is compatible with most materials.

    Distributor Benefits
Though it's banned for most uses, some aerosol manufacturers continue to sell ozone-depleting trichlor as a cable cleaner.   The TR-16 is less expensive than those--and far safer than the cheap perchloroethylene (aka: perc, perchlor, or tetrachloroethylene) they sell as a trichlor alternative.   Perchlor is a known carcinogen that causes liver and kidney damage.   Its classification as a Hazardous Air Pollutant requires a permit for use and hazardous waste disposal of the empty cans.   Many end users--particularly line contractors at REAs, munies, and co-ops--are unaware of these issues.   Educate your customers on the hazards of perc and trichlor--and make more money by switching them to Type TR.   American Polywater sweetens the pot with a limited-time discount offer: Mention this newsletter and receive a 10% Discount on your initial order of product (applies only to the Type TR aerosol portion of a mixed product order).
