Product Need
In a valiant effort to reduce deaths in building fires due to toxic halogen gases released in the smoke of burning cable jackets, reputable manufacturers such as Houston Wire & Cable, Okonite, General, Aetna and others have developed new cable technologies known collectively as "low smoke zero halogen" (LSZH) or "low smoke halogen free" (LSHF).   Unfortunately these chemically unique jacket materials are highly susceptible to degradation caused by incompatible pulling lubricants.   Many commercially available pulling compounds--particularly wax-based lubes--weaken LSZH/LSHF jackets and should not be used on these cables.   How can installers identify an appropriate cable pulling lubricant and ensure the integrity of electrical construction projects that utilize LSZH cables?
PRODUCT SOLUTION
Polywater® LZ Lubricant for low-smoke zero-halogen cables

Polywater® LZ Lubricant for low-smoke zero-halogen cables.
Introducing Polywater® LZ, the ONLY pulling lubricant developed for and tested on LSZH/LSHF jackets.   It meets the performance needs of power plants, mass transit systems, airports, petrochemicals, high-occupancy buildings, and other construction projects using LSZH power, control, instrumentation, and communication cables.   Polywater® LZ is a specification-grade, clean, slow-drying, gel lubricant that is broadly compatible with low-smoke zero-halogen jackets.   Lubricant LZ provides significantly reduced tension on all types of cable jackets, with friction coefficients and consistency similar to popular Polywater® J.   Lubricant LZ dries to a thin lubricating film that retains its lubricity for months and won’t cement in the cables.   Its non-combustible dried residue makes LZ suitable for installations of fire-retardant cable.

  • Compatible with LSZH/LSHF Cable Jackets
  • Non-Combustible Dried Residue
  • Specification Grade
  • No Halogen Content
  • Non-Staining, Quick Clean-Up
  • High-Performance Lubrication
  • Passes IEEE 1210 Standard
  • Cable Manufacturer Approved
DISTRIBUTOR BENEFITS
