Question: Why is it necessary to clean panels with Solar Panel Wash in areas where it rains on a regular basis? Won't the rain simply rinse away any accumulated dirt?

Answer: It is possible that a hard rainfall will wash away some amount of loose debris such as light dust or windblown sand that has accumulated on a panel. However, rainfall will never remove all the grime, and can even make a panel "dirtier" in some cases. Consider the classic redneck carwash analogy:

Guy 1: "Man, your car is filthy!" Guy 2: "Yeah, but it's supposed to rain tonight, so I'll just leave it outside and hit up the redneck car wash."

Not only does rain fail to "clean," it tends to introduce its own contaminants. Think about it. What happens to clean cars after it rains? They look terrible: water spots, splashed dirt, acid rain, etc. That's why we wash them again. Between hard rains there are often light rains ... or fog, mist, or morning dew. These can dissolve debris into a muddy mixture that then dries into a caked-on coating that even a hard rain won't rinse away.

Generally, rainfall will not remove jet fuel, bird droppings, tree sap, mineral deposits, or caked on pollen. These efficiency reducing contaminants must to be scrubbed off the panels. But some cleaners leave residue and are incompatible with panel hardware. Polywater's concentrated and panel-compatible SPW removes contaminants, leaves no residue, and reduces water spots. Panels that are cleaned regularly with SPW last longer, produce more energy, and are easier to clean in subsequent maintenance cycles than panels that are left for extended periods. Long-term accumulation of debris reduces output and can cause harmful surface scratching. SPW is the best cleaning option available.
