A Weekly Summary of Polywater® News of Incredible Importance
Issue #845

Polywater's "Technical Talk Newsletter" enjoys above-average readership. The most recent issue, entitled Stop Oil Leaks for Improved Electrical System Reliability, provided detail on the use of PowerPatch Sealant for transformer repair. This issue had the highest open and click-thru rates of any issue thus far.

Even after their initial release, these articles are workhorses. An article from the Fall of 2012 was resent in December 2014 to a select group of over 12,000 electrical engineers and specifiers involved in the construction & maintenance of petrochemicals, industrials, hospitals, universities, and waste water treatment facilities. This was the article on FST Foam Duct Sealant entitled Stop Water Damage -- Improve Electrical Reliability.

That e-mail blast still gets 4-6 opens per day nearly a month later. Our email broadcast service provider's transmission report shows a stellar open rate: "Based on these metrics your campaign is trending in the above average range." Here's a sampling of the data:
  • Emails Sent: 12,137
  • Delivered: 11,779
  • Delivered: 97.05%
  • Unique Opens for Broadcast: 1,520
  • Total Opens for Broadcast: 2,495
  • Opens = 22.34%
  • Average metrics on Opens = 10% to 20%
  • Read Once 1,242
  • Read Twice 137

Powertech Associates--Polywater utility reps in the Northeast--provide another example of re-using Technical Talk content to expand and compound the effectiveness of our written message. Their December newsletter, called "Powerlines - News You Can Use", contained the full text of a recent Technical Talk article verbatim (this idea could also work well for select Friday Fax articles).

The Technical Talk Newsletter cultivates your spec efforts. Discuss ways with your regional manager to plow new ground and plant sales seeds in your territory through broadened readership.

The Joke
Redneck Vacation.   Billy Bob and his friend Luther were talking one afternoon when Billy Bob says, "Ya know, I reckon I'm 'bout ready for a vacation. Only this year I'm gonna do it different like. The last few years, I took your advice about where to go. Three years ago you said to go to Hawaii. So I went to Hawaii ... and Earlene got pregnant. Two years ago you said to go to the Bahamas, and Earlene got pregnant again. Last year you suggested Tahiti, and darned if Earlene didn't get pregnant again." Luther asks Billy Bob, "So, what you gonna do this year that's different?" Billy Bob says, "This time I'm taking Earlene with me."
