Friday Fax
A Weekly Summary of Polywater® News of Incredible Importance
Issue #838

Caution: Be careful not to misrepresent the Salisbury Approval of Grime-Away Wipes mentioned in last week's Friday Fax. This could cause confusion ... or worse.

Salisbury's approval is for Grime-Away's use as a hand cleaner--not as a rubber glove cleaner. The approval is intended to allow workers to clean their hands before wearing their gloves so they don't transfer incompatible oils or soaps into the gloves. We've heard tales of workers ruining gloves simply by eating greasy finger food for lunch.

Grime-Away is not formulated for cleaning gloves, nor should it ever be promoted as such. RBG Rubber Goods Cleaner is the correct Polywater product for cleaning rubber live-line tools, although the big market is for rubber blankets, sleeves, and jumpers, not gloves. In fact, most utilities send dirty gloves out for professional servicing and testing rather than maintaining them in the field.

Making the distinction between RBG and Grime-Away is a great topic of discussion when you're introducing Polywater's live-line products. Make sure you understand this distinction. If not, talk with your regional manager for more insight.

The Joke
On Delivering Sad News. An Army captain called a sergeant in. "Sarge, I got notice that Private Jones' mother died yesterday. Better go tell him and send him in to see me." So the sergeant called his morning formation and lined up the troops. "Listen up, men," he said, "Johnson, report to the mess hall for KP. Smith, report to Personnel to sign papers. The rest of you men report to the Motor Pool for maintenance. Oh by the way, Jones, your mother died, report to the CO." Later the captain called the sergeant into his office. "Sarge, that was a pretty cold way to inform Jones his mother died. Couldn't you be a bit more tactful next time?" Sarge said, "Yes, sir." A few months later the captain called the sergeant in again. "Sarge, I just got news that Private McGrath's mother died. You'd better go tell him and send him in to see me. This time be more tactful." So the sergeant called for his morning formation. "Ok, men, fall in and listen up. Everybody with a mother, take two steps forward ... Whoa! Not so fast there, McGrath!"
