          | China's State Grid power utility faced a challenge. The photo shows a large void in a transformer cabinet floor as seen from within the vault, looking up. Without filling the entire vault, State Grid wanted to seal the large opening to prevent moisture, sewer gas and critters from entering the lower vault and damaging expensive equipment. Our distributor, Mr. Wang Shaohua of Beijing Xunjing Technology Co., set out to prove that this was exactly the application for which Polywater's InstaGrout Sealant Barrier was designed. He proposed a fix, and a field trial date was set. A false floor was installed in the vault using a cardboard surface supported by wooden beams from below. Cut-outs accommodated the vertical cables. Polywater FST Foam barrier strips were used as plugs around cables and the perimeter to prevent liquid InstaGrout from dripping into the vault when first poured. Sand was spread on the cardboard to ease its removal after the foam had cured. Then the InstaGrout was mixed and applied, and the crew went home for the night. When the cabinet doors were opened the next day, it was all smiles. InstaGrout performed exactly as proposed by expanding and forming a hard, waterproof seal against the opening walls. State Grid is very satisfied with the barrier, now considered a breakthrough solution to a long-standing problem. They're now formalizing implementation of the InstaGrout solution on a system-wide basis. The entire process is described with large photos in an expanded article: InstaGrout Field Report from China. It was also filmed, and a good video documents the entire procedure: InstaGrout Application Video from China (excellent selling tools!). All Polywater agents should be aware of this capability and should view the article and video. There are countless similar application opportunities worldwide. Mr. Wang is a hero at State Grid for proposing this solution. You can do the same in your territory. Keep in mind that PedFloor Structural Foam works the same suspended-barrier magic for the communications market. |

                              | Holier Than Thou. Four Catholic men and a Catholic woman were having coffee together after church service one Sunday morning near the Vatican. They were discussing their children, and things were getting a bit competitive. The first Catholic man tells the others, "My son is a priest. When he walks into a room, everyone calls him 'Father'." The second Catholic man's pride gets the best of him and he speaks up, "My son is a Bishop. When he walks into a room, people call him 'Your Grace'." Not to be out done, the third Catholic man says, "My son is a Cardinal. When he enters a room, everyone bows their head and says 'Your Eminence'." Then the fourth Catholic man says very proudly, "Well, my son is the Pope. When he walks into a room, people call him 'Your Holiness'." Since the lone Catholic woman was sipping her coffee in silence, the four men looked at her and gave her a subtle, "Well ....?" She proudly replied, "I have a daughter. She is tall and slim with long flowing hair, a beautiful face and a fine figure. When she walks into the room, everybody says, 'Oh, My God!'" |
