A Weekly Summary of Polywater® News of Incredible Importance
Issue #750

Polywater's Communications Division introduces SolidSeal™ Duct Plug, a two-part, high-expansion foam duct sealant. SolidSeal contains the same high-performance foam as Polywater FST, but is packaged in a different multi-use cartridge (50 ml) more suitable for smaller communications conduits up to 2 inches in diameter.

SolidSeal kits also include innovative form-fitting disk rings for temporary containment of the SolidSeal foam as it expands and cures inside the conduit. The first ring is inserted approximately 3 inches into the duct. The second disk is inserted flush with the end of the duct. The indexed ring plugs are size adjustable by outer ring removal. Using the mixing nozzle, SolidSeal foam is then injected into the cavity between the two ring plugs. The convenient nozzles allow for easy, precision, hands-free application, and are reusable for 5 to 7 minutes.

SolidSeal foam expands and hardens to a rigid, closed-cell structure. This permanent, but removable, seal keeps vermin out and blocks both water and gas under moderate pressure.
  • Easy to use and apply
  • Precise application, no mess, no waste
  • Reduce safety hazard from animal excrement, pests and vermin
  • Innovative form-fitting plugs
  • Complies with TIA standard 758-B to seal out gas, water, and vermin
  • Expands, cures and seals even when water is present
  • Tolerates cable movement and environmental extremes
  • Compatible with ducts and cables
  • Re-enterable—can be removed
SolidSeal foam wets and adheres to metals, plastics, and concrete, and can seal ducts of different sizes. It conforms around complex cable fill configurations. Kits contain everything needed to install multiple duct blocks. Larger 250ml cartridges for big jobs (2” or more) are also available.

The Joke
Polite Way to Insult Someone. A guy was getting ready to tee off on the first hole when a second golfer approached and asked if he could join him. The first said that he usually played alone, but agreed to the twosome. They were even after the first few holes. The second guy said, "We're about evenly matched, how about playing for five bucks a hole?" The first guy said that he wasn't much for betting, but agreed to the terms. The second guy won the remaining sixteen holes with ease. As they were walking off number eighteen, the second guy was busy counting his $80.00. He confessed that he was the pro at a neighboring course and liked to pick on suckers. The first fellow revealed that he was the Parish Priest. The pro was flustered and apologetic, offering to return the money. The Priest said, "You won fair and square and I was foolish to bet with you. You keep your winnings." The pro said, "Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?" The Priest said, "Well, you could come to Mass on Sunday and make a donation. And, if you want to bring your mother and father along, I'll marry them."
