          | Let's start the new year with some good news. Sometime on or about July 28, 1964, one-year-old Tom Fredericks muttered his first of many words. Those around him understandably misinterpreted his utterance as an attempted "Pa Pa." What he was really saying was "Pull-Planner." He's been saying it ever since ... and, finally, others are enthusiastically listening. Zoom ahead to late 2012. Tom, now the General Manager of Polywater's Electrical Division, decided to share his love and knowledge of the software in a webinar entitled: Pull-Planner 3000 Cable Tension Calculation Software Tips and Tricks. Hundreds attended the webinar, and all appear to have arrived at the same conclusion: it was pretty darn good. Here's a sampling of the feedback: "Thank you for taking the time to host the webinar. Can you send a copy of the presentation for future reference?" "Do you have a recording of the webinar that I could use or listen to over again? Great presentation. Thank you." "Thanks for a great presentation. Will you be sending the PE CEU credits? Thanks." "Thanks for making the program available and providing the helpful webinar. I've used SKM and ETAP cable pulling programs and the Polywater Pull-Planner 3000 is more flexible, more features and intuitive, easy to use. We'll have to set a date for a presentation at our office for the rest of the engineers." "Thank you very much for the very good information you provided about the Pull-Planner in the webinar. Although I've been using the Pull-Planner for a number of years, I learned new things from you which I will now start to use." "Thanks for taking the time to present this webinar. I've run Pull-Planner for many years with great results and have had feedback from the field that suggest my calculated tensions are representative of actual values. I appreciate that you showed me several features I’ll definitely be able to use to refine my results. Good job on the presentation! Your patience with the questions is commendable." "Thanks for all. I really enjoyed the webinar and like what your company does. Keep up the great work so that we can!" ... and from an agent: "I too really learned a lot from the class. Did you say you are planning more for January? I definitely want to push this more now that I've taken the class and really see how valuable it could be to contractors and engineers. Good Job!" Next week we'll discuss why this webinar can be one of your most effective sales tools. In the meantime I strongly recommend that all Polywater agents make the time (~83 minutes) to view the recorded webinar linked above. |

                              | A Mostly True Christmas Story. The Friday Fax Editor was hosting a large family gathering on Christmas Day. Part of the festivities included an "Ugliest Christmas Sweater Contest." At approximately 8:00 p.m. we received a call from ADT Security. There was a burglar alarm at the Polywater office building. I told ADT not to dispatch the police; that I'd go myself and check it out and call them only if necessary. I immediately left home to determine whether it was a false alarm or a real burglary--both of which we'd already experienced in the past. I figured I was okay to drive, since I'd long since switched from vodka to wine, and because, after all, this was essentially official police business. In my jolly state I was able to walk through Polywater's front door quite fearlessly. When I got back home I didn't tell the holiday revelers that it was only a false alarm; I told them that when the gang inside the office building saw my flashing sweater, all six immediately dropped their TEC-9's and surrendered peacefully. Yeah, and you better believe that sweater won the contest. |
