A Weekly Summary of Polywater® News of Incredible Importance
Issue #710

As the famous poet Lord Alfred Tennyson once wrote, "In the spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love." Yes, spring is known as the season of renewal. Animals have thoughts of mating. Plants reproduce without even thinking. Tis also the season of pothole repair and road construction ... and outside the big city a good whiff of country fresh air often smells more like manure than Febreze.

For Polywater agents the main thing to remember about spring is that "April showers bring May BonDuit orders."

Two reasons: One, warm weather stimulates construction activity related to BonDuit use. Two, warm weather allows more BonDuit use (apply in temperatures above 40°F). With early temperate weather, this year proves to be especially active for BonDuit.

You can help ensure a successful year by being prepared to sell against competitive brand PE Fusion (by GRA Services Int'l) if and when the necessity arises. Though marketed for the same purpose--bonding polyethylene pipe to PE and other materials--PE Fusion is chemically quite different from BonDuit. PE Fusion is a two-part acrylic sealant. BonDuit is a two-part non-acrylic sealant. But craftspeople worry more about performance than chemistry.

What you really need to know is that BonDuit is superior to PE Fusion in field use, as detailed in our Laboratory Report comparing the two. BonDuit's 1-to-1 mix ration is far more forgiving than PE Fusion's sensitive 10-to-1 ratio. PE Fusion eventually cures to impressive strength, but BonDuit cures faster and bonds stronger in the critical first minutes and hours, especially within the first 4 hours of application. Crews don't like having to wait long before burying or moving a connection out of fear that a coupling might come apart. BonDuit also stores easier for reduced waste. PE Fusion should be refrigerated to extend shelf life.

Now is the time to hone your sales pitch. Spring, summer, and autumn months are the BonDuit selling season.

The Joke
Girl's Night Out. A group of 15-year-old girls discussed where they should meet for dinner. They agreed on the Dairy Queen next to the Sea View restaurant because they only had $6 between them and they might see Jamie Jones, the cute boy in school who lived nearby, plus they could ride their bikes there. Ten years later, the 25-year-old friends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Sea View because the beer was cheap, they had free snacks, the band was good with no cover, and there were lots of cute guys. Ten years later, at 35, they again discussed where to meet for dinner. They agreed on the Sea View because the Cosmos were good, it was near the gym, and if they went late enough, there wouldn’t be too many whiny little kids around. Ten years later, at 45, they discussed where to meet and agreed it should be the Sea View because the Martinis were big and the waiters wore tight pants. Ten years later, at 55, they discussed where to meet. They agreed on the Sea View because the food was reasonable, the wine list was good, they had windows that opened in case of a hot flash, and fish is good for your cholesterol. Ten years later, at 65, they discussed where they should meet and agreed on the Sea View because lighting was good and they had early bird specials. Ten years later, at 75, they discussed where they should meet and agreed on the Sea View because the food wasn't too spicy, the restaurant was handicapped accessible, and they even had an elevator. Ten years later, at 85, they discussed where they should meet and agreed to meet at the Sea View because they'd never been there before.
