Friday Fax
A Weekly Summary of Polywater® News of Incredible Importance
Issue #668

 .
In the classic 1967 Paul Newman chain gang movie "Cool Hand Luke", actor Strother Martin portrayed a brutal prison warden who famously warns the rebellious Luke that ... "You gotta get your mind right."

This has never been more true than today with FST Foam. Sometimes the first step to higher product sales is a change of mindset. We hope our foray into the duct sealing market isn't perceived as a half-hearted attempt to carve off a little piece of the action. The Friday Fax exists so that we never have to say, "What we have here is a failure to communicate." So please pay attention to the following.

Innumerable specs exist out there requiring that ducts be plugged. Most don't specify how to accomplish this; they lack product or performance parameters. The typical low-end solution is either duct putty or aerosol foam. These are undeniably inexpensive, but also highly ineffective. They don't block water or gas. They sag, shift, and fail over time. They don't provide a long term seal. Too often contractors simply install them to satisfy a loose specification, knowing it's a temporary fix at best.

At the high end of the market are mechanical plugs specifically tailored to the exact tolerances of cable configuration and conduit i.d., often custom made. This makes them less versatile, and sourcing them often adds delay. These are effective, but very expensive. Because of the cost and inconvenience, customers balk, opting to use them only in critical situations.

What's in the middle? Only FST. This is a massive opportunity: a modestly priced, specifiable, high-performance, highly versatile, convenient, easy application duct plug that satisfies code and specification requirements. It holds water (up to 60 feet of waterhead pressure, 15 feet continuously) and gases (tested on helium, with a molecule smaller than methane). It will not sag or shift; it lasts and lasts. It's compatible with cables and duct. It conforms to an infinite set of duct and cable configurations. It doubles as a proven copper theft deterrent. It's re-enterable. It pays top commission dollar.

It's one thing to plug a duct. It's another thing entirely to effectively plug one with cables installed. FST does the trick. Nothing is more cost effective. Get your mind right. FST isn't some fringe product option in the duct plug market. FST is the market. Go get it.

The Friday Fax Editor's Joke of the Week
The Joke
Woman vs. Man.   1) Last night, my wife and I were sitting in the living room and I said to her, "I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug." She got up, unplugged the TV, and threw out my beer. 2) A husband decided to wash his sweatshirt. Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to his wife, "What setting do I use on the washing machine?" She replied, "That depends. What does it say on the shirt?" He yelled back, "University of Oklahoma." 3) A couple is lying in bed. The man says, "I'm going to make you the happiest woman in the world." The woman replies, "I'll miss you." 4) As a man stepped out of the shower he said, "Honey, it's just too hot to wear clothes today. What do you think the neighbors would think if I mowed the lawn like this?" She replied, "That I married you for your money." 5) Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom to understand my man; love to forgive him; and patience for his moods. Because, Lord, if I pray for strength, I'll beat him to death. Amen. 6) Question: Why do little boys whine? Answer: They are practicing to be men. 7) Question: What does it mean when a man is in your bed gasping for breath and calling your name? Answer: You did not hold the pillow down long enough. 8) Question: How do you keep your husband from reading your e-mail? Answer: Rename the mail folder "Instruction Manual."
