Spring's warmer weather brings the season of field repair and maintenance for electrical transformers ... and with it our annual recognition of PowerPatch Man--who this year celebrates his 9th birthday! PowerPatch Man is, of course, our mascot for PowerPatch Leak Repair. The "Caped Sealer" was handcrafted by Jeff Ericson on a whim during the new product's infancy, and in awe we've watched his feats of plugging-do and stick-to-itiveness grow more spectacular ever since. Unlike consumer heroes like Superman, who made a career out of jumping over buildings, racing trains, and performing other silly tasks, PowerPatch Man is an industrial-strength superhero. He repairs damaged transformers and PILC cables in three easy steps. He's faster than a speeding welder and is able to cling to almost any surface for years on end. What is PowerPatch Man made of? PowerPatch Sealant, of course--and his tear-resistant lint-free cape is a SpliceMaster DT-69 Wipe! From his perch in the frozen wasteland of Minnesota he scans the globe, ever vigilant for oil- or gas-filled transformers at risk from rust or blunt force trauma. When he spies a messy leak he flies into action to prevent pollution and transformer failure. Without his help damaged transformers must be removed from service, "bagged" to contain leaking oil, and transported to repair facilities for rebuilding that can cost thousands of dollars plus labor and downtime. Mighty PowerPatch Sealant is mixed in the field and applied to a damaged transformer. It cures in minutes for a tough, long-lasting seal that effectively and inexpensively plugs holes and stops leaks. No torches, power sources, clamping, or wrapping is required. Each kit contains all materials needed to create a seal in the field without removing the transformer from service. Craftspeople quickly become proficient in the use of this easy-to-learn product. PowerPatch Man's 9-year stand is a testament to the strength and durability of PowerPatch Sealant. He saves innocent transformers from premature demise. He saves time. He saves money. He saves jobs. He is our hero. |
![]() The Joke |
The Pharmacist. A lady walks into a drug store and tells the pharmacist she needs some cyanide. The pharmacist says, "Why in the world do you need cyanide?" The lady then matter-of-factly explains that she needs it to poison her husband. Alarmed, the wide-eyed pharmacist says, "Lord have mercy. I can't give you cyanide to kill your husband! That's against the law! They'll throw both of us in jail, and I'll lose my license." Then the lady reaches into her purse and pulls out a picture of her husband in bed with the pharmacist's wife and hands it over the counter to the pharmacist. The pharmacist takes the picture and, after studying it for minute, replies, "Well now, you didn't tell me you had a prescription." |
