Here's a wonderful testimonial from AT&T on Polywater FTTx fiber drop lubricant. The customer purchased the product on an OTA (one-time authorization) and is now writing to the standardization committee requesting product approval. The sheer volume of the writer's ebullience is a testament in itself, and his specificity makes it a more powerful sales tool for you. Kudos to Ken Sweet of KLW Co. for his efforts in securing this feedback, which has resulted in substantial progress in the approval process at AT&T. "Due to the recent number of jobs we have been pulling in an unprecedented number of long fiber jumpers. These jumpers range from 100’ to over 500’ and more often than not are overriding other cables in the same conduit, not to mention 90s and sweeps. I started by using a sample of this product I was given by the vendor (I had both a small sample bottle of the FTTx spray and some of the wipes). It worked so well that I was one of those who pushed my supervisor to apply for the OTA. "To give you a very good example: We had a 250’ jumper that went floor to floor in a building that had several 90° bends in the conduit as well as the fact that we were overriding other cabling. The first time we were not using lubricant and broke the first jumper approximately halfway into what was a very hard pull. The pulling lubricants the line crew uses are goopy and tend to leave behind a mess in customers' phone closets. The second time around I remembered I had the sample of the FTTx lubricant. We sprayed some in the conduit and then used the wipes to ‘slather’ up the pre-connectorized bag that is on the head-end of the jumper, as well as holding the wipe on the cable as we pulled. This time the pull was not only successful, but was so much easier than the first time that we were quite impressed at the difference. This is not the only time this lubricant has been noticeably beneficial; I relate this story as a typical example of what we have been dealing with. "I have been using it ever since and I personally have not had a broken jumper since. The other major advantage is, being a thin-film lubricant, it doesn’t cause a goopy, runny mess in and around the conduit or on customers' floors. It is a lot easier for technicians to deal with also. I feel this product has a definite place in our retinue and has paid for itself by not having to replace broken jumpers and not having to try and wipe up puddles of thick goop. I would like to see this product PID’ed to make future ordering easier." --AT&T Digital Electronics Group |

How To Be Gracious. Jennifer's wedding day was fast approaching. Nothing could dampen her excitement, not even her parents' nasty divorce. Her mother had found the perfect dress to wear, and would be the best-dressed mother-of-the-bride ever! A week later, Jennifer was horrified to learn that her father's new young wife had bought the exact same dress as her mother! Jennifer asked her father's new young wife to exchange it, but she refused. "Absolutely not! I look like a million bucks in this dress, and I'm wearing it," she replied. Jennifer told her mother, who graciously said, "Never mind sweetheart. I'll get another dress. After all, it's your special day. A few days later, they went shopping, and did find another gorgeous dress for her mother. When they stopped for lunch, Jennifer asked her mother, "Aren't you going to return the other dress? You really don't have another occasion where you could wear it." Her mother just smiled and replied, "Of course I do, dear ... I'm wearing it to the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding." |
