With the growing popularity of FST Foam Duct Sealant we've been getting a lot of calls about the right amount of foam to use for a given situation. After all, a 2-inch duct with 40% cable fill won't require as much FST as a 6-inch duct with 10% fill, right? Therefore, to assist you and your customers we've created this nifty FST Foam Quantity Calculator, which you can download and save, forward to customers, or access from our website at a later time as needed. The Excel file allows users to input the number and size of cables (to determine cable fill) and the duct size for their application. The calculator returns the volume of foam required (in English or metric units), and the number of cartridges needed to achieve that volume for both the FST-180 and FST-250 cartridge styles. All measurements are conservative. Be sure to enable macros when prompted by the file. Contractors can use this simple calculator to assist in job estimating for an entire project, procurement, and for pre-planning in the office before heading off to a jobsite for the day.
