The SpliceMaster® product line includes more than a variety of excellent cleaners. It also includes a number of supplemental products, such as SP-ROLL Sanding Cloths. Each roll contains 50 yards of 1-inch-wide 120-grit non-conductive aluminum oxide sanding cloth for removing semi-con shield residue, jacket polymers, and other contaminating materials from electrical cable insulation during splicing. Such deposits must be removed prior to splicing electrical cable since they can lead to tracking and arcing. Standard, store-bought sandpapers and abrasives can leave conductive grit residues that could lead to cable failure and hazardous conditions. Only non-conductive sanding materials should be used. The SP-ROLL contains the same sanding cloth found in pre-cut strips on our popular Pel-Pac Splice Prep Kits, such as the catalog #HP-T369/S. Let's review:

Another example of a SpliceMaster® supplemental product is Refillable Bottles. Bulk solvent containers are economical, but are hard to handle and transport, and can make application messy, inefficient, and potentially hazardous. Pouring solvent into smaller, locally sourced containers (which may be incompatible) may introduce contaminants and violate OSHA labeling requirements. SpliceMaster bottles are the solution. These empty plastic pint or quart containers are compatible with all SpliceMaster Cleaners, and are ideal for refilling from larger jugs or drums. They can be pre-labeled at the factory for the specific SpliceMaster Cleaner to be used, ensuring field safety. The bottles are available with flip-top caps or spray triggers. Additional replacement sprayers are available separately.

![]() The Joke |
The DEA and the Farmer. A DEA officer stops at a ranch in Texas and talks with an old rancher. He tells the rancher, "I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs." Rancher says, "Okay, but no matter what you do, don't go in that field over there," as he points out the location. The DEA officer verbally explodes, saying, "Mister, I have the authority of the Federal Government with me." Reaching into his rear pants pocket, he removes his badge and proudly displays it to the rancher. "See this badge? This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish ... on any land. No questions asked or answers given. Have I made myself clear? Do you understand?" The rancher nods politely, apologizes, and goes about his chores. A short time later, the old rancher hears loud screams and sees the DEA officer running for his life, chased close behind by the rancher's prize bull. With every step the bull is gaining ground on the officer, and it seems likely that he'll get gored before he reaches safety. The officer is clearly terrified. The rancher throws down his tools, runs to the fence and yells at the top of his lungs. "Your badge. Show him your badge!" |
