Having waited a sufficient period of time out of respect to those in mourning, we now repeat this 2005 article from Friday Fax #340: Michael Jackson isn't the only one grabbing headlines these days. 2005 is proving to be a banner year for APC in the publicity department. First, BonDuit Conduit Adhesive won EC&M's coveted "Product of the Year" award in the Specialty Products category. Now, our Boom Wipes in the 72-count self-dispensing canister (cat #B-D72) have won Utility Products Magazine's "Reader's Choice" award, earning them a promotional layout on page 49 of their February 2005 Annual Buyers Guide issue. Plus, Boom Wipes are featured on the front cover in full color! According to Dave Schumacher, winning this award was a real "thriller." Wade LeVander added that you just can't "beat it." Jeff Ericson claimed that the honor of winning excited him so greatly that "my nose nearly fell off." Jeff's pain meds are now being monitored more closely, and Tom Fredericks regularly checks for wine in Jeff's Coke cans. Pick up this issue of Utility Products and show it around at your accounts. We're sure it will inspire even the most cynical buyer to spontaneously break in verses of "We are the World." |

The Road Trip. While on a road trip, an elderly couple stopped at a roadside restaurant for lunch. After finishing their meal, they left the restaurant, and resumed their trip. When leaving, the elderly woman unknowingly left her glasses on the table, and she didn't miss them until they had been driving for about forty minutes. By then, to add to the aggravation, they had to travel quite a distance before they could find a place to turn around, in order to return to the restaurant to retrieve her glasses. All the way back, the elderly husband became the classic grouchy old man. He fussed and complained, and scolded his wife relentlessly during the entire return drive. The more he chided her, the more agitated he became. He just wouldn't let up for a single minute. To her relief, they finally arrived at the restaurant. As the woman got out of the car, and hurried inside to retrieve her glasses, the old geezer yelled to her, “While you're in there, you might as well get my hat and the credit card.” |
