A Weekly Summary of Polywater® News of Incredible Importance
Issue #561

When used properly, Polywater’s FST™ Foam Sealant can hold a water-head pressure up to 30 psi or 60 feet of water head.
FST Lab Report
The recent Technical Talk article on FST Foam Duct Sealant garnered a huge response.   Actually, this wasn't an article; it was a Laboratory Report focusing on the ability of FST Foam to block water and air in conduits, and its capacity to resist removal, another measurement of seal strength.   FST, a two-part closed-cell urethane foam, was subjected to a sober battery of well-designed lab tests to quantify performance by scientific measurement for comparison to other common duct block products.   These other products include one-part foams--typical canned foams--and clay based molding putties.   Not surprisingly, FST is vastly superior to these other products.   The report summarizes it this way: "When used properly, Polywater’s FST Foam Sealant can hold a water-head pressure up to 30 psi or 60 feet of water head.   It has high closed-cell content and will seal air under pressure.   The foam sealant will seal between multiple cables and tolerates cable movement and stress.   The FST foam, applied in sufficient thickness, is impervious to water, as is the adhesive bond to both the PVC or HDPE conduit and PE cable jacket.   One-Part Insulating Foam Sealants and Duct Seal Putties show poor performance.   They do not block water and air or prevent cable removal."   You can and should read the full report for a better understanding of FST's abilities, but here's the deal on this paper: you should use it liberally in all FST sales situations.   This paper does for FST Foam what our vast number of research papers have done for Polywater cable lubricants over the years.   This marks us as the technological leaders in foams and duct sealing.   This paper gives you a meaty response to most questions and objections you may encounter.   It will also benefit your customers, who may otherwise waste money on the cheap-but-ineffective alternate products--and jeopardize their huge investment in cable systems.

The Friday Fax Editor's Joke of the Week
The Joke
Airport Tales 3.   Ticket agents reveal who's running our government ...   1) A lady Senator called and said, "I need to fly to Pepsi-Cola, Florida.   Do I have to get on one of those little computer planes?"   I asked if she meant to fly to Pensacola, Florida on a commuter plane.   She said, "Yeah, whatever, smarty!"     2) A senior Senator called and had a question about the documents he needed in order to fly to China.   After a lengthy discussion about passports, I reminded him that he needed a visa.   He replied, "Oh, no I don't.   I've been to China many times and never had to have one of those."   I double checked and sure enough, his stay required a visa.   When I told him this he said, "Look, I've been to China four times, and every time they have accepted my American Express!"   3) A New Mexico Congresswoman called to make reservations, "I want to go from Chicago to Rhino, New York."   I was at a loss for words.   Finally, I said, "Are you sure that's the name of the town?"   "Yes, what flights do you have?" replied the lady.   After some searching, I came back with, "I'm sorry, ma'am, I've looked up every airport code in the country and can't find a Rhino anywhere."   The lady retorted, "Oh, don't be silly!   Everyone knows where it is.   Check your map!"   So I scoured a map of the state of New York and finally offered, "You don't mean Buffalo, do you?"   The reply?   "Whatever!   I knew it was a big animal."
