Never allow our various sealant and adhesive products such as BonDuit®, PowerPatch®, or AirRepair® to be labeled simply as "epoxies". While the term may be accurate in a general sense, its use does a disservice to both your customer and your wallet. To the uninformed it implies that inexpensive 2-part epoxies available from the local DIY center are acceptable for utility usage. This has been tried many times, and always fails. Epoxy technology is extremely complex, with infinite formulations possible--each with vastly different bonding properties. It's like a bakery. Most of the stuff in there is just sugar, flour, butter, and eggs--but your taste buds know the incredible diversity of goodies these ingredients can produce. APC's sealants have been specially formulated through painstaking laboratory work to join specific materials to targeted strengths in a narrow set of conditions unique to the intended industrial application. Field performance is the key, not some over-generalized chemical term. Does a baker push "dough"? No, he sells rich, cream-filled, flaky, mouth-watering frosted delicacies ... with or without sprinkles. Never say the "E" word. |

Typically, most high voltage splicing and termination is done by the two or three largest electrical contractors in each major metropolitan area due to the specialized training, tools and equipment, and certification required. These contractors represent big cleaner-sales opportunity (in addition to being big cable pullers). With this in mind, APC Regional Managers constantly seek information (from you and other sources), by territory, on these contractors, with the ultimate goal of making joint sales calls on them to present our SpliceMaster Cable Cleaning product line. The SpliceMaster line experienced good growth again last year, with the sales leaders being Type TR and Type HP. Yet we've just scratched the surface; many more opportunities exist. You can be a step ahead of your RM by identifying those large contractors with high voltage divisions, and setting up appointments. With concerted effort in this area, we can really clean-up on sales. |
![]() The Joke |
More Motivational Poster Truth. Pretension: The downside of being better than everyone else is that people tend to assume you're pretentious. Meetings: None of us is as dumb as all of us. Inspiration: Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration, which is why engineers sometimes smell really bad. Mistakes: It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others. Cluelessness: There are no stupid questions, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots. Teamwork: A few harmless flakes working together can unleash an avalanche of destruction. Demotivation: Sometimes the best solution to morale problems is just to fire all of the unhappy people. Sacrifice: Your role may be thankless, but if you're willing to give it your all, you just might bring success to those who outlast you. Change: When the winds of change blow hard enough, the most trivial of things can turn into deadly projectiles. Burnout: Attitudes are contagious; mine might kill you. Planning: Much work remains to be done before we can announce our total failure to make any progress. Persistence: It's over, man. Let her go. |
