Friday Fax
A Weekly Summary of Polywater® News of Incredible Importance
Issue #516

Huge BonDuit® potential at power utilities.
Power utility agents, listen up.   Super salesperson Jeff Moriarty of Utility Sales Associates has secured BonDuit sales exceeding $100,000 for one large investor-owned utility.   Ameren Corporation is undertaking an "underground initiative" and is using massive quantities of BonDuit Conduit Adhesive for their connections.   The Friday Fax is sometimes accused of employing hyperbole to make a point.   Not in this case.   It's hard to overstate the impact Jeff and the others at USA have had on Polywater sales in their territory.   Now, obviously, not every utility will engage in a similar initiative, and there are many other reasons their sales potential may differ (i.e., operation sizes, procedures, priorities, infrastructure, environment, etc.), but six-figure sales of one product to one account ought to at least grab your attention.   You can be sure your factory contact is going to want to ask some questions about your utilities' BonDuit status.   With so many power utilities in the country, it's fun to think of the dollars involved if we were to duplicate this success just a few more times.   Did USA get lucky here because of Ameren's large initiative?   Absolutely not!   USA was APC's leading seller of BonDuit prior to making this sale.   They were in position and used their experience and knowledge to further the gains when opportunity knocked.   That's not luck; it's reward for hard work.   Hurray for USA!

August 1st, the effective date of APC's new price schedule.
As you wake up to this, your fresh issue of the Friday Fax, it will slowly dawn on you that today is August 1st, the effective date of APC's new Distributor Price Schedule.   If you haven't communicated this price increase to your customers by now, you run the risk of literally being "a day late and a dollar short" when you try to place their orders with the factory.   Think of the shame.

The Friday Fax Editor's Joke of the Week
The Joke
The Bridge.   Ole lived across the river from Clarence, who he didn't like at all.   All the time they were yelling across the river at each other.   Ole would yell to Clarence, "If I yust had a vay to cross dis river, I'd come over der an beat you up good, yah sure, ya betcha by golly!"   This went on for years.   Finally the state built a bridge across the river right there by their houses.   Ole's wife Lena says, "Now is your chance, Ole; vhy don't you go over der and beat up dat Clarence like you said you vould."   Ole says, "Okay, by yimmy I tink I vill yust do dat!"   Ole starts for the bridge, but he sees a sign on the bridge and he stops to read it, then he turns around and comes back home.   Lena asked, "Vhy did you come back?"   Ole said, "I tink I shanged my mind 'bout beatin' up dat Clarence.   You know, dey put a sign on da bridge dat says 'Clarence is 13 ft. 6 in.'   He don't look near dat big vhen I yell at him from across da river!"
