APC worked closely with numerous manufacturers of LSZH cable in the development of new Polywater LZ, and during the process learned a bit about how they view their products and plan to market them. These are high-tech, expensive, specifiable cables that serve a higher purpose: they save lives. The manufacturers place great importance on LSZH cables and many have corporate initiatives making them their number one focus. Their marketing plans include calls on engineering firms, huge industrials, and utilities' environmental compliance departments (particularly for new power plant construction and scrubber jobs). While enthusiasm varies, in general the manufacturers have great things to say about Polywater® LZ and are grateful for the technical support APC has offered in creating a functional lubrication solution. We'll be running joint marketing programs with some manufacturers to introduce LZ lube to their customers. Some will allow us to include LZ literature with their LSZH cable specs. We should mirror the cable manufacturers' marketing plans for LSZH cable, calling on the same customers, and coordinating efforts whenever possible. To reiterate, there is currently no lubricant on the market other than Polywater® LZ known to be compatible with the vast majority of LSZH cable types. How do you sell LZ? Follow the LSZH cables. |
