Issue #469

APC is looking for opportunities to sell Type TR in the Catalog #TR-16 Aerosol Can, even if the price needed to do so is lower than normally acceptable.
Cat #TR-16
Issue #467 of the Friday Fax highlighted the super success of Type TR Cleaner, pushing sales of one package to second-place levels.   That success--and the volume it creates--allows us to be more aggressive on price (at least with one other package).   Effective immediately, APC is looking for opportunities to sell Type TR in the Catalog #TR-16 Aerosol Can, even if the price needed to do so is lower than normally acceptable.   Company management refuses to change the published price or be specific about how low they're willing to go, but you should know that if you have a chance to displace a competitor's aerosol at an account looking for TR's characteristics in a low price, call your factory account executive.   They have new pricing authority on the TR-16 and are ready to talk turkey.

RBG Rubber Goods Cleaner.
Rubber Goods Cleaner
Another big winner last fiscal year was RBG Rubber Goods Cleaner.   Sales nearly tripled!   Success was due in part to our double commission offer and the fun rubber chicken sales contest, but mostly to RBG's extraordinary performance.   To help you continue the sales climb we'll share three lessons learned last year:   1) Demos, demos, demos.   To sell RBG you must demo the product.   2) Push RBG as an interim cleaner between testing and servicing intervals.   Recommend the product for occasional field use, rather than trying to replace formal machine cleaning back at the service center.   This beats (or least gets a piece of) the I-don't-need-your-product-because-all-our-rubber-goods-are-sent-out-for-cleaning objection.   3) Another tip that surprises many reps is to ignore glove cleaning.   Focus instead on yellow and orange rubber goods materials, such as jumpers, blankets, sleeves, and line hose.   That's where the money is.

The Friday Fax Editor's Joke of the Week
The Joke
Ole versus the Law.   Ole got pulled over by a state trooper for speeding.   The trooper started lecturing him and in general began to throw his weight around to try to make Ole uncomfortable.   Finally the trooper got around to writing out the ticket.   As he was doing that he kept swatting at some flies that were buzzing around his head.   Ole said, "Having some problem with circle flies, are ya?"   The trooper stopped writing the ticket and said, "Well, yeah, if that's what they are.   I've never heard of circle flies"   Ole said, "Vell, circle flies are common on farms.   They're called circle flies because they're usually found circling around the back end of a horse."   The trooper nodded absently and went back to writing.   After a minute he stopped and said, "Are you trying to call me a horse's ass?"   Ole said, "Oh no, officer.   I have too much respect for law enforcement to even tink about that."   The trooper eyed him suspiciously, but continued with the ticket.   After a long pause Ole said, "Hard to fool dem flies, though."
