Here's an example of excellent follow-up to a factory generated sales lead, courtesy of Chip Stokes with George E. Anderson Co., Inc. "Thank you for taking the time to visit with me by phone a few minutes ago, regarding your pending cable installation project. I was given your name by Tom Fredericks at American Polywater. Our agency is the manufacturer's representative for American Polywater in South Texas. I provide technical support and product selection assistance to engineering team members and local contractors and end users. I spoke with [the engineering firm] last week. We would welcome the opportunity to work with you in conjunction with the aforementioned project to assure that an adequate amount of Polywater Plus Silicone Type NB cable pulling lubricant is available locally when you commence operations. In addition to lubricants, Polywater (www.polywater.com) also has lubricant pumps, cable cleaners, and other products that will come in handy on this project. All Polywater products are available from local electrical wholesalers. We maintain a local (Houston) Polywater inventory. I would be happy to meet with you one day next week at your convenience to determine how we may be of service to you in conjunction with this project. I will give you another call on Monday to determine a convenient time for us to meet. Thanks!" |
![]() Pearl Harbor Pull |
The historic, mile-long cable pull to Ford Island in Pearl Harbor--made possible by Polywater® J and the Pull-Planner™--continues to make news. Originally chronicled as the cover-story article in the October 2006 issue of Transmission & Distribution World Magazine, this record-breaking pull is now the subject of another feature article, this time in Utility Products Magazine. This second article is an even more powerful tool for selling Polywater, since it focuses on pulling tension calculation and lubricant selection and application. Not coincidently, this article was written by John Fee, President of American Polywater. This article must be in your sales arsenal. Mention it (or provide a copy or link) when appropriate during sales calls. Click the link above to read or print the article. |
![]() The Joke |
Fluffy the Rabbit. A man came home from work one day to find his dog with his neighbor's pet rabbit in its mouth. The rabbit was dead, and the guy panicked. He was sure the neighbors would demand that his dog be destroyed. So he took the dirty, chewed-up rabbit into the house, gave it a bath, blow-dried its fur, and put it back into the cage in the neighbor's garage, hoping they would think it died of natural causes. A few days later, his neighbor called across the hedge to the guy: "Did you hear that Fluffy died?" The guy stammered around a bit and said, "Um ... no ... uh ... what happened? The neighbor replied, "We just found him dead in his cage one day. But the weird thing is that the day after we buried him, we went out into the garage and someone had dug him up, given him a bath, and put him back into the cage. There are some real sick people out there!" |
