Type FO™ Alcohol Prep Wipe versus HydraSol® Cable Gel Remover .

Type FO™ Prep Wipes

Sales of APC's Type FO^™ Alcohol Prep Wipes for optical cable splicing continue to climb year after year--but so does confusion over when to use Type FO versus HydraSol^® Cable Gel Remover. Understand that Type FO in no way replaces our popular HydraSol Cable Gel Remover. Type FO is used to clean the bare glass fibers after the cladding has been peeled back. Type FO removes dust and other minute contaminants just prior to splicing. It is ideal for this use because it evaporates quickly, leaving no residue; and its anhydrous nature keeps water off the fibers--a critical concern. HydraSol is a powerful cleaner formulated specifically to remove "ickypic," the water-repelling gel filling between the optical cable jacket and the inner buffer tube. HydraSol is not used on the glass fibers themselves because of its water content and tendency to leave a slight residue. Type FO, on the other hand, cannot replace HydraSol because it is ineffective on ickypic. Be sure you are recommending the right cleaner for the job. Invite customers to this issue of the BITS! More Blonde Jokes. 1) A gorgeous young redhead goes to the doctor's office and says that her body hurts wherever she touches it. "Impossible!" says the doctor, "Show me." The redhead takes her finger, pushes on her left shoulder and screams. Then she pushes her elbow and screams even more. She pushes her knee and screams. Likewise she pushes her ankle and screams. Everywhere she touches, it makes her scream. The doctor says, "You're not really a natural redhead, are you?" "Well, no," she says, "I'm actually a blonde." "I thought so," the doctor says, "Your finger is broken." 2) A Russian, an American, and a blonde are talking one day. The Russian says, "We were the first in space!" The American says, "We were the first on the moon!" The blonde says, "So what? We're going to be the first on the sun!" The Russian and the American look at each other and shake their heads. "You can't land on the sun, you idiot! You'll burn up!" says the Russian. To which the blonde replies, "We're not stupid, you know. We're going at night!" 3) A girl visits her blonde friend, who had acquired two new dogs, and asks her what their names are. The blonde says that one is named Rolex and one is named Timex. Her friend says, "Whoever heard of someone naming dogs like that?" "Helloooooo," answers the blond. "They're watch dogs!"
