Jessee Wendt of KAM Sales wrote a love sonnet to new Polywater SP--and won an iPod Nano in the process. Jessee was one of only 25 reps (out of 175) who actually read the full SP introduction letter. It's a bummer, but the other 150 reps missed the note at the end instructing them to email the factory with three facts they learned from the letter and to list two target accounts in exchange for a chance of winning the iPod. Jessee's full text is too long for the Friday Fax, but here's a taste: "Polywater SP rocks ... even when the lube is dry and less visible, it's still proven to reduce friction. Polywater SP will improve the cable pulling world forever. That's quite a statement, but I have seen the future. After KAM Sales starts handing out product samples, providing demonstrations, handing out product flyers, recommending counter display placards, and referring customers to Polywater's awesome website, I know we'll begin selling this product like there's no stopping us. And when that happens, when orders start pouring in like the unstoppable rains from biblical times, my commission check will be larger." Congratulations also to John Hebeler of the Elus Company, whose succinct Hemingway-like prose won him the second iPod. The moral? Better read your communication from APC. In addition to winning booty, those who read and responded to the intro letter have already produced sales results!

Supplier of the Month

APC has been chosen as the August "Supplier of the Month" (SOM) for Affiliated Distributors (A-D). The 30-day program offers a significant additional rebate to all A-D member distributors on specific Polywater product purchases during the period: BonDuit, Grime-Away, Polywater SP Spray Lube, Polywater CLR Clear Lube, and FST Duct Sealant. We need to use this opportunity to land new branches and focus especially on these newer products. APC is restricted from revealing the amount of the additional A-D incentive on these products, but it has been described by insiders as "way more significanter!" A-D will post the news on its website and notify members by fax and email. APC agents will receive a special flyer highlighting the program's particulars. To implement the program you need only make A-D calls, mention "SOM," and push these new products.

Story with a Moral. In 1923, do you know who was: 1) President of the largest steel company? 2) President of the largest gas company? 3) President of the New York Stock Exchange? 4) Greatest wheat speculator? 5) President of the Bank of International Settlement? 6) Great Bear of Wall Street? These men were considered some of the world's most successful of the day. Now, 83 years later, history books ask us if we know what ultimately became of them. The answers: 1) The president of the largest steel company, Charles Schwab, died a pauper. 2) The president of the largest gas company, Edward Hopson, went insane. 3) The president of the NYSE, Richard Whitney, was released from prison to die at home. 4) The greatest wheat speculator, Arthur Cooger, died abroad, penniless. 5) The president of the Bank of International Settlement shot himself. 6) The Great Bear of Wall Street, Cosabee Livermore, also committed suicide. However, also in 1923, Gene Sarazen was the PGA Champion and winner of the most important golf tournament, the US Open. What became of him? He played golf until he was 92 and died in 1999 at the age of 95. He was financially secure at the time of his death. The moral? Screw work. Play golf.
