Quart Trigger Sprayer #SPY-35LR

With the imminent national release of new Polywater® SP Spray Lubricant next week it's time to take a closer look at the three spray options available. We expect the high-volume seller to be the quart trigger spray bottle (catalog #SPY-35LR). It's a standard plastic bottle with an industrial-quality, high-volume, reusable spray trigger. The spray head has three settings: "Spray" (mist), "Stream", and "Off." The quart can be refilled and reused with the aid of gallon (cat #SPY-128) and 5-gallon (cat #SPY-640) bulk packages. It's suitable for short runs (up to 50 feet) of small wires or cables into small-diameter conduit--and is so effective wires can often be pushed in, eliminating the use of fish tape.

Pump Sprayer Model #IS-3

For larger installations we offer the Model #IS-3 Pump Sprayer. Users pour Polywater SP Lubricant into the tank and hand pump to pressurize the container. The poly sprayer has a 3-gallon capacity with 18-inch curved brass extension, 36-inch flexible heavy-duty hose, and brass fan nozzle that sprays up to ½ gallon per minute. This is a stock item (2-day shipping standard), but APC does not manufacture it. We offer it as a convenience to customers too busy to source one separately. Polywater SP Lubricant can be used with many commercial sprayers. If you have customers interested in buying a sprayer similar to an IS-3 on their own, make sure they get an "industrial" or "concrete" sprayer. Typical "garden" or "insect" sprayers available widely at hardware or DIY stores are not suitable because they can't handle the necessary pressure or thicker-than-water viscosity. The key is to find a sprayer capable of holding 30 PSI and some solid contents.

Pump-in-a-Bucket Model #PB-5

The "Pump-in-a-Bucket" Sprayer Model #PB-5 was created specifically for large installations using Polywater SP. This special automated pump is conveniently housed in a 3.5-gallon pail designed to sit atop a 5-gallon pail of Polywater SP (catalog #SPY-640). It comes standard with a rechargeable 12-volt battery, 10-foot hose, and spray wand to dispense lubricant. The PB-5 automatically shuts off when lubricant is not being dispensed. A fully charged battery pumps up to 20 gallons of Polywater SP. The PB-5 is assembled by APC. As it may involve customization, it is not in stock and is made-to-order. The lead time can be as long as six weeks! Be careful not to represent otherwise.

Joke of the Week: Wal-Mart Wines. Wal-Mart announced that they will soon be offering customers a new discount item: their own brand of wine. The world's largest retail chain is teaming up with E&J Gallo Winery of California, to produce the spirits at an affordable price, in the $2-$5 range. Wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to throw a bottle of Wal-Mart brand into their shopping carts, but ... "There is a market for cheap wine," said Kathy Micken, director of marketing. She continued, "But the right name is important." Customer surveys were conducted to determine the most attractive name for the Wal-Mart brand. The top surveyed names in popularity are: 1) Chateau Traileur Parc 2) White Trashfindel 3) Big Red Gulp 4) World Championship Riesling 5) NASCARbernet 6) Chef Boyardeaux 7) Peanut Noir 8) I Can't Believe It's Not Vinegar! 9) Grape Expectations 10) Nasti Spumante. According to Micken, "The beauty of Wal-Mart wine is that it can be served with either white meat (Possum) or red meat (Squirrel)."
