Keeps transformers in service – No need to install temporary replacements because a transformer has to be removed from service for a weld repair. Patch can be removed, if desired – When transformers are refurbished, patches can be removed with a glancing blow from a hammer. Quick and cost effective. – simple repairs can take ½ hour or less with a well trained repair technician. Extends life of hard-to-replace equipment – can extend the time until refurbishment is required for aged equipment.
